Current volunteering opportunities
Junior sessions are wonderfully fun, the attendees are super motivated, the sessions are immensely satisfying and regularly awe inspiring!
To ensure that all juniors receive the same high level of tuition we aim to maintain a high adult (head coach, assistant coach, helper) to junior ratio. Our current desired target is 3:1.
By it's very nature junior sessions are more resource intensive than senior but the trade off is that they are highly rewarding, the development of skaters is incredibly fast, not to mention getting to help develop the next generation of skaters.
With the above in mind the Junior Planning Committee is currently recruiting a super organised person to manage, encourage and gently cajole skaters to be involved coaching delivery with juniors.
Role & Responsibility
- Maintain and manage the helper rota
- Work with the Head coaches to populate the helpers rota prior to the start of each six week session
- Ensure that sessions are properly resourced
- Post reminder via our social media channels to encourage helpers to fill in the rota
This is or can be a purely remote role (in that you don't actually need to be physically present as this can be done purely online, and done from the comfort of your bed)
Please also get in touch if you're interested in getting more involved in juniors, were currently developing a coaching program to develop coaches and learning the ropes as a helper with juniors is a great place to start.
